TENCEL™ branded Lyocell and Modal fibers are produced with sustainably sourced, renewable raw material wood, manufactured by the Lenzing AG company using a environmentally responsible process. TENCEL™ is Lenzing's flagship brand for textiles.

Thanks to their Eco Soft technology, fabric made with this fiber is exceptionally soft to the skin, smooth, luxurious in shine and flow. Some of the most outstanding qualities of TENCEL™ fibers are the ability to enhance breathability and the capacity for thermal regulation and moisture absorption.

TENCEL™ lyocell and modal fibers are certified as compostable and biodegradable, thus they can fully revert back to nature. They are also certified by the international standard STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® as containing no harmful substances.

TENCEL™ Modal fibers are certified with the internationally recognized EU Ecolabel, an environmental quality label only awarded to products and services which have a significantly lower environmental impact throughout their entire lifecycle.

The solution is extruded through fine holes to produce fiber and the solvent is recycled in a closed-loop process – more than 99% of the non-toxic solvent is recovered and reused instead of being flushed out as wastewater. TENCEL™ supply chain is transparent, using 80% less water than cotton, eliminating the negative environmental impacts of traditional fiber processing, using new sustainable technologies.

The Better Cotton Initiative exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector's future1.

The Better Cotton Standard System is a holistic approach to sustainable cotton production which covers all three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social and economic. The system is designed to ensure the exchange of good practices, and to encourage collective action to establish Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity. As of 2017, Better Cotton accounts for 14% of global cotton production2.
